BOOK REVIEW: #EBIGAN BY MRS.PUNK ROCK CIELITO
+Thelma Alberts is a Blogger and writer in HubPages.
#EBIGAN is an autobiographical poetry book in Tagalog language based on the life and experiences of the author Maria Ces Seidel aka Mrs. Punk Rock Cielito.
It is not only about her life experiences but also about her life with the people around her.
Be it with her relatives, family circle, Fb friends worldwide and with the people whom she met in her journey of life.
From Pateros, Philippines, Dubai, U.S.A and of course, her new home town in Bavaria, Germany.
This book is a compilation of her Tagalog poems which were published in her blog Mrs. Punk Rock Cielito.
I admit I have read some of these poems in her blog before they were published in her #EBIGAN book.
I was so fascinated how the author wrote her poems with so much intense reality that I was even laughing of the way she wrote about life in the Philippines.
I was able to relate what she wrote.
What the author wrote, brought me back to my early childhood and teenage years in our home country Philippines.
Another thing that fascinated me in her poetry, she wrote with a very deep (for me as a Bisaya) Tagalog language.
I did not know that there was something like this poetry in our national language worldwide.
I only know that this was the first I have read online and now in a hard copy.
This book is a must read for every Filipino worldwide. We have to patronize our own products and continue to spread our culture and tradition Worldwide!
#EBIGAN is a very interesting, entertaining, memorable, informative and fun-to-read book.
To those who love poetry, it is a must read.
This is a Tagalog poetry of a Filipino life one can relate to.
One of the best I have read in this book: from BLUES CLUES: NO SHOES
“ang kabilin-bilinan ng aking lola
wag manapak ng kapwa ika niya
lagi lamang maging mapagkumbaba
bumangon agad kapag nadapa.”
I like this part of the poem as it reminded us Filipinos to be humble, kind, honest and true to ourselves wherever we are in this world.
Whatever challenges we encounter, how hard it would be adopting the new countries we are in,
we have to keep going, work hard and get up every time we fall down.
As what we have learned, these challenges we encounter is part of being here on earth.
BTW, #FBIGAN book was renamed into #EBIGAN because of the author's friendship to a 10 year old boy, Ethan who is not allowed to have an Fb account yet.
I will not tell more about #FBIGAN / #EBIGAN. I would suggest you to read this wonderful poetry book of Mrs. Punk Rock Cielito.
Dive into the world of Tagalog poetry and have fun reading.
